On January 12-22, 2020, a group of parishioners from St. Sarkis Church, led by Der Hrant, made an unforgettable pilgrimage to Jerusalem - the Holy Land. Here is a summary of their trip...
Day 1: Visit to the Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem, Mount of Olives, The Chapel of Ascension and The Garden of Gethsemane.
Day 2: Visit to the Tomb of Lazarus, wilderness of Judea, the Jordan River and the Baptismal Site, Jericho, the Mount of Temptation and the Dead Sea.
Day 3: Visit to St. Mary Church and Badarak, The Western Wall, the Church of the Dormition, Sourp Pergich Convent-Armenian Cemetery- Genocide Monument, House of High Priest Caiaphas.
Day 4: Divine Liturgy at the Holy Sepulcher, visit to the Armenian Quarter of Jerusalem, and at night cleaning the Holy Sepulcher and the tomb of Our Lord.
Day 5: Visit to Bethlehem and participation in the festive welcoming of the Armenian Patriarch to Bethlehem, visit to the Gratto of the Nativity, and participation in the midnight service.
Day 6: Visit to the pools of Bethesda, St Anne’s Church, The Way of the Cross, Holy Sepulcher, and celebrated Christmas with the Armenian community of Jerusalem at the Homenetmen hall.
Day 7: Visit to Nazareth, Cana, Mount Tabor, and The Sea of Galilee.
